Prospective authors are invited to submit their abstracts before Friday 7 November 2008. For more instructions on how to submit your abstract, please visit ice-bdcm.com This will be the sixth event in this successful series that has provided a unique opportunity for Eastern and Western bridge engineers to meet and share knowledge and solutions to the particular challenges posed by the design, construction and maintenance of bridges throughout the world. Topics and themes The organisers are looking for a range of papers submitted under the following topic headings: • Lessons that can be learnt from the past • Advances in the understanding of the structural behaviour of bridges • Bridge management, operation and maintenance • Innovation in bridge design, construction and repair • Construction, monitoring, assessment and durability The organisers particularly welcome case studies that outline practical solutions to real challenges. How do I submit a paper? All papers must be submitted online through the BDCM 2009 website by Friday 7 November 2008. One author from each paper will be required to present the paper at the conference and will be offered a discounted fee.
